It's 8 a.m. Tuesday morning here at Vacationland Inn on 453 Wilson Street, Brewer Maine.
We have a "FREE Continental Breakfast serving homemade WAFFLES with Wild Maine Blueberry Sauce". That's what the pamphlet in our room says anyway. We may go try it out if and when Ross gets finished with his emailing and gets through the shower.
Me at The L.L.Bean newish "Home" Store with the Brass Lobster Door Handles that Ross liked and tried to purchase. Unique, one of (or two of I guess) a kind specially designed and sculpted door handles. They don't sell them in the store; sorry Ross.
Behind Mariner's Grill, where I had The Early Bird Special Breakfast at 6 a.m. yesterday.
Lovely breakfast, real maple syrup was available but I was satisfied with the fake stuff.
Finally we got up and away from the beautiful Camden, Maine and headed down the road to Belfast and Perry's Nut House.
At Perry's Nut House in Belfast, Maine on US Route 1.
Ross and I got "Cracked at Perry's Nut House!"
A much worse for wear, ancient stuffed Gorilla is one a few real stuffed animals left at Perry's Nut House. Perry's Nut House has seen better days, that's for sure.
We did get some of Perry's homemade fudge (for Aunt Dawn and Kool-Bee) and also some Needhams, which are coconut minty chocolate thingys made with mashed potato, as well as lots of other stuff. Got a few trinkets for the natives back home as well.
Our mobile phones haven't been working very well in Maine. We chose AT&T as sim providers after a study that included the factor that AT&T was the only phone company that operate in Canada as well. It worked well in San Francisco and in New York City.
Our hostess at Camden Riverhouse Inn said that the whole of the Camden area was a non-covered area for AT&T. We certainly couldn't phone Dad and Sandy to warn them of our imminent arrival because we couldn't get any mobile phone signal.
So "The Lady" speaking to us through the GPS device guided us from Belfast to Dad and Sandy's house but we went right past and into Bangor to the huge Bangor Mall, so that we could get a mobile phone signal and call Dad and Sandy and tell them when we would be at their front door. This also gave us a chance to search for a luggage strap (Ross had lost the one he started out with and we have had trouble finding a replacement.) also, Ross had been told about the Moose Calling Devices at Dick's Sporting Goods, and he wanted one. So we had to get that as well.
I got a lovely Under Armour golf shirt for less than half price as well.
We rang Dad and Sandy from Dick's and eventually stopped in their and after some confusion, got greeted by Dad and Sandy. We had a lovely visit and then left to check into our new hotel, nearby on Wilson Street, Brewer. Only about a 5-10 minute drive from Dad and Sandy's house. Nearby, within walking distance we have a big Walgreens Pharmacy, which has food and drink.
I'll do more on this blog later.
